Mount Pleasant, S.C. is a beautiful bedroom community just across the Cooper River Bridge from Charleston. It has a varied mix of homes ranging from the upper 100's to well over 2 million dollars. I have inquiries from people from out of town frequently about Mt. Pleasant, and they all say that this is an area that has been recommended to them by friends who live here, or those who have visited and realized the beauty and value of an area that has already started a strong recovery in the housing market.
Mount Pleasant has, as of this writing, about seven months of active inventory. This is exactly what a normal strong market would want. Any less, and prices are skewed too high, and any more means a slowdown in sales due to competition.
If I had to recommend a part of Mount Pleasant to look at, I would start in the "Old Village", and work my way to Hamlin Plantation and Dunes West to Rivertowne and Park West. There is a price point and a wonderful floorplan for each buyer waiting. Happy house hunting, and see you next time!
