Perry Belly Dance will be featured at 3 performances next week at the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival.

Perry Belly Dance, along with the professional dance troupe kabilaht a janub, will appear live on stage on Friday March 18th at 2pm, Saturday March 26th at 3pm and Sunday March 27th at noon.

The belly dance troupe is typically booked for one show, but they have recently become fan favorites in Middle Georgia after their appearance at the GA National Fair last October.

The three performances will be a great opportunity for a wider audience to view various styles of Belly Dance. It will also give Perry Belly Dance the opportunity to showcase their students as well as promote other belly dancers in Warner Robins, Macon and the surrounding area.

The professional troupe, kabilaht a janub, is made up of top belly dancers in the middle GA area and features instructors from both Perry Belly Dance and the Academy of Dance in Warner Robins, GA.

Perry Belly Dance is located at: 736 Carol Street, Suite 12, Perry, GA 31069. Students of all levels and backgrounds are welcome to attend.

The studio is currently open for classes Monday thru Thursday from 6-9pm. Perry Belly Dance also now has hip scarves in stock for $20 each.

For more information about classes, or to book a bellydancer for you next event, please contact Perry Belly Dance at: 478-213-0055, or email them at perrybellydance@yahoo.com

The Macon Cherry Blossom Festival is a Middle Georgia tradition that draws visitors from all over the world.  The festival kicks of Friday March 18th.

Perry!

The New Perry Hotel  Regrettably, they have Closed down after many, many years :(

Henderson Village and the Langston House Restaurant - blast from the past, incredible food, service, and lodging.

And Belly Dancing?   My wife is from Mangalore, India.   When I met her she was Belly Dancer Extraordinaire.  I would post pics, but she is my wife.

Fred,

Thanks for the comment.  Perry belly dance is owned by my wife, so I try to give her as much publicity as possible.

We actually organized a fundraiser for Toys for Tots in December and held it at The New Perry Hotel.  It is sad that they are closed.  I think they delayed closing so we could hold our event.  We used to go to the hotel Tavern occasionally and catch some pretty good live music.

I absolutely love the Langston House...at least when I have a big closing!  But definitely worth the price.

Does your wife still dance?

My wife is considering teaching a bollywood class as well.

So how do you know so much about Perry?

Ethan, we have traveled between Florida and Western North Carolina since before I-75 was finished, and for year after year ever since.

Perry was always among our stops along US 41.

Some years back (late 90's), my Wife mentioned wanting a "place of solitude".  I remembered the New Perry Hotel.   She has stayed there once or twice per year, for a week at a time.

I  have a friend who did a Sales Route across Georgia; he spoke of New Perry Hotel, and Tucker's at the Farmers Market on the south side of Atlanta, as "good places to stop and eat".

Somewhere along the way we encountered "Henderson Village", and have been regulars there for many years.  We know  "Beth", the Server that is featured on their Website (she has been there a long time, as was our friend, the late Henry Taylor).

We also eat at a Barbecue Place at the same exit as the Holiday Inn; used to be a Hot Dog Place, can't recall the name; but they get 5 stars from me.

And the Holiday Inn for Lunch?   Decent Buffet for a great price, and they Scored 100 on the Georgia Dept. of Health mandatory "poster" over the front desk.

Fred,

Unfortunately, many businesses in Downtown Perry have been closing.  There are only a few shops left on Carol Street.  My wife's dance studio is across the street from the Perry Hotel on Carol Street

The barbeque place is Grill Masters and I eat there often.  I'm not exactly sure of the family connection, but I believe the family that owns Grill Masters also owns the Perry Hotel.

The Holiday Inn is now a Ramada, but the Green Derby restaurant is still there and doing well.

Let me know the next time your up this way and we can go have some barbeque!

Ethan
