Keep Friendswood Beautiful is sponsoring a city-wide clean-up and garage sale Saturday, April 9 in Centennial Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents can bring in non-hazardous waste items such as tree limbs, grass clippings, old furniture, old appliances, unwanted wood, metal and plastic. Residents can also donate garage sale items including furniture, household items, bikes, toys, etc. Clothing will not be accepted. Items can be dropped off the morning of April 9. All proceeds from the garage sale will be used to beautify city facilities and parks.

Also needed are wildlife rescue/care items such as aquariums, dog and cat carriers, clean towels or shallow crock bowls. These items will be used to care for the many injured wild animals that make their homes in Friendswood's shrinking green space

Tires, paint, batteries or other hazardous household waste will not be accepted. For information, call the community services division of the City of Friendswood at 281-996-3220.

WOW, that sounds like an event worth driving down from ND for. We love rummage sales and consequently we could probably bring down a load or two as well. To bad gas is what it is these days.
