The 2011 Indoor Track and Field Indoor Division I Championships are being held at Texas A and M University in College Station this week. Friday March 11th and Sat. the 12th. This is a great event for the University and the community. I plan on going to the first day and am excited since it has been a long time since I personally attended a track event at Texas A and M. The truth be known it was when Randy Matson threw a world record in the shot put at Kyle Field in the 1960's! I remember the excitement of it all. Hope the Aggies can do something like that again!

I heard that TAMU had to replace the grass at Kyle Field with artificial turf to keep the homecoming queen from grazing at halftime.
I know, not true. Just teasing.
I spent 20 years in Houston. Can you just imagine all the Aggie jokes I heard over the years?
And to be honest, my niece is doing her Veterinary doctor's residency at TAMU. I made encouraged her go to one of the home football games so she could see the Corp of Cadets and the Aggie band perform. She thanked me afterward. Gig 'em.
