To some, it is the close of a long week. It can also be a day where you prep everything for Monday. It allows you to shift your thinking and know that Saturday is coming. Perhaps you get to sleep in or have a trip planned. We mark time by hours and days, but weeks are something else
Lenders and major employers who make loans or issue pay checks like to close them on Fridays late. That is so that they get the extra cash flow and interest benefit on funds right up to the last moment which would be Tuesday morning.
Fridays mean that we bring to a close the business week. Whether it was productive or not, it still comes to a close. I used to schedule my days off (when I could) starting with Friday and create a 3 day weekend for myself. That was always a treat.
Friday is a special prayer day for Muslims who practice the Islam religion. There is even a restaurant called TGIF or thank God its Friday. Department stores have sales called black Friday
Just think, on the other side of the world, Friday follows a different schedule than our Friday.
