Keeping The Real Estate Process Simple

By
Real Estate Agent with First Team Real Estate Inc.

In the wake of what has happened in real estate the past few years, not only in the beach areas of California but nationwide, more of you who are selling your home and/or looking to buy a home are asking questions.

And rightfully so.

While there is a lot involved in what I call The Process, it doesn't have to be overwhelming.  There is rhyme and reason to everything and I've simplified it into 4 parts:

1.  Finding a lender
2.  Negotiating with the seller
3.  Opening escrow
4.  Handling "conditions"

Each part has its own steps, which is where many buyers and sellers get frustrated.  Your real estate professional should help you through your own buying or selling process step by step, and if each step is handled properly there should be a minimum of surprises along the way.  Many of those happen in part 4, as that is where the actual monetary commitment with its conditions is finalized.

Don't get me wrong, there are always speed bumps along the way;  however, keeping it simple and taking care with each step will not only keep those bumps to a minimum, it will have you much better prepared to deal with the ones that do come your way.

Great post Ann.  I 'keep it simple' with my clients too and continue to update them through each step so they know what has been done and what is still to come.  I also try to keep it simple with the other professionals in the transactions as well, which is easier said than done sometimes...

I like your condensing the process into 4 steps and your detailed description of these steps is a good handout to provide buyers and go over with them as the process begins.

Sometimes it is amazing how the process can get off track depending on all the folks involved in the process.  Hopefully just speed bumps put back in place.
