Pay It Forward to Newbies - Here's My Tip #5 - Free & Easy Way to Put Your SEO & Google Juice on Steriods!

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Properties

Hello, Guys, here is my Tip #5.....Raise Your SEO & Get Your Share of Google Juice By Commenting

What Does Your ActiveRain Relationships, & Google Have in Common?  What the heck does commenting have to do with my SEO & my Google Juice?

Hang with me here...I know I talked about Building Relationships in my previous Tip, but this is important enough to continue.  Guess What?  I recently learned something new I wish I had known months earlier when I first started Blogging.

WOW, do I have a gem for you!  Remember...our goal is to make at least Ten Comments Each Day, right?  Continue to hang here, as hopefully this will make sense.  Your comments get you those daily points.    Equally or more important is building those relationships, right?  Two good benefits to daily commenting, right?

What if you could mess with your SEO and send Google Juice your way at the same time....just through commenting?  WOW, this raises the stakes and makes your time spent commenting more important.  The reason we are all here in ActiveRain is to make money...increase our business...brand ourselves, right?

If done correctly, your comments can stir up  G O O G L E   J U I C E  for you!  Google loves stuff that is interactive.  Google loves the commenting back and forth by ActiveRain Bloggers....this is interactive...this awakens the sleeping Google Giant and our SEO is raised and we receive the coveted Google Juice to us locally!

It is important that your comment be long enough, 2 - 8 words is not enough.  I try never to make a comment that is less than 10 words, but I consider this minimum and usually do more.  Do not do the copy and paste thing that you may have seen.  Your comment should be specific and of value.  Avoid cookie cutter comments such as "Nice post".  You can say that, but add something that adds to the conversation, something of value.  Google loves this!  I suggest reading the comments made by others...there are some master commenters in ActiveRain.

Here's my gem.  Did you know that the line under your picture in the comment section is a live link? This is a "back link".....back to who?  YOU!  Check out what your line says about you.  It should have your name, company, AND IMPORTANT...your service areas.  All those comments with the back links are stirring up SEO and sending out the Google Juice.  The links do not have to be clicked on to do this...just being there is working.

Ask me how this works...in three words...I Don't Know!   You know, I don't know how my car operates, I just know that it does, and I don't care how...I just want it to go when I turn the key!  Take my word for it...and Steven Graham's, ActiveRain's Blogging Coach. IT JUST DOES!  Best way to completely understand is to take Steven's weekly class on this...an hour well spent...and FREE!

Go to your profile to make changes regarding adding your areas and your specialties to your link.  You can look at profiles of other ActiveRain to see where they made changes.  Warning:  You will find that many profiles will not have these changes - they likely do not know to do this.  Check out the address areas...this is where you can add your areas rather than your address.  I just changed my profile a couple of weeks ago, so click on my link and go to my profile where you can see where I replaced addresses with areas, etc.  This is what gets the Google Juice coming to you locally.  Quick fix!

You will find that many bloggers do not have their areas in the line below their picture on the comment section, which is a back link to them.  Many do not know this!

BTW - These links are a great way to increase your ActiveRain network.  I like to click on the link of everyone who comments on my posts...taking me to their profile page where I click on their blog, and go to one of their posts AND COMMENT ON THEIR POST!

You will be amazed at how quickly you form a relationship with that person.  Now, it doesn't matter to me if I have made my 10 comments already...I just do it anyway.  Give this a try and you will see a big increase in the comments you receive on your posts.  It is worth the few extra minutes it takes to do this when you respond to your comments.  Add to your network daily!  Stir the Google Juice!

I also like to hit the Facebook "like" button at the start of the posts I read and comment...another way to build your network.

I don't want you to spend your valuable commenting time without making it work to the max!  I actually do not have a problem with using more words, my entire life, I have had to cut out the words, make it shorter, now I can offer up my comments without having to state something in 10 words or less.

I suggest you check in with Steven Graham, ActiveRain Coach, attend this class...and grow your Google Juice and SEO through commenting, and back linking....in ActiveRain.  You could pay someone to work on your SEO...but this is FREE...and this price works for me!

Guys, thanks for the read.  I hope you found it helpful.  It is in layman's, actually laywoman's terms, and I don't know a whole lot, but I do know this stuff works.

Use Your Comments to Build Relationships....AND....Stir Up the Google Juice Coming Your Way!

Hey Barbara,  Wow, what a blog, how long did it take to write this one? How can I add a "signature at the bottom of my comments?

So many questions and not so many answers yet. But I will keep on "learning" here on Active Rain.

Great post, keep'em coming.

Hello, Clint.  I think you are talking about changing the link at the bottom - if so, go to you Profile and edit.  Suggest that you go to my profile page (you can do this by clicking on my link below).  Notice in the blanks for address, name, etc. that I have added items not requested.  Steven told us how to do this in his class.  It is easy, just take out the address & put your areas. What you want to pull up in your link are your areas so that this works as a "back link" to you.  I know it sounds strange, but, Steven says it makes our SEO increase.  After you make the changes, go back and see how it comes up on you comment link.

Actually it did not take too long to write the post as I just did it like I was talking and the words just sort of flowed.  There are great Rainmakers in AR who can do those awesome "how to" posts, but mine are just me talking (I guess I have had lots of practice doing this!).

Excellent post!  One thing about comments I find of great value .. relationship building.  Being consistent on well choose AR members that you subscribe is important as they get to know your personality and your business side as well.  I also try to go outside my subscribed list to find new interesting members to add.  Being consistent they get to know your location and bingo .. hopefully referral opportunity will result.  All the best .. I'm impressed how you have built a strong presence and soaked in the advantage tools so quick!

Hello, Connie, you are 100% right on this...relationship building is major.  Being consistent is important so that other serious ActiveRain members know you are active, watch for you, and want to be in your network.  I love getting to know the personality of an AR friend.  I like keeping in touch with the AR friends I have already made, but it is equally important to reach out and add new people on a regular basis. Thanks for your comment - see you soon.

This is a very informative post for new members and for many of the old timers. Too many of us tend to always be in a rush and fail to leave meaningful comments. When I fail with my words, I hope that people will recall my photographs that I like to include with my comments.

Hey, Norma, I consider that a great compliment coming from you.  It takes a little while to really "get" the plan behind the plan regarding commenting.  I have learned one thing here in ActiveRain...every single thing has a reason and a desired result.  Thanks for the comment and enjoy the evening.

Hello, Rene.  Don't you love this stuff!!!  I know Steven did not teach some of this in his class when I joined back in September...things just keep changing.  In fact, in the class we listened to on Friday, there was an AR staff member in the class and he says he keeps coming back again and again.  Things change in this tech world of ours!  Thanks you for the suggest, you are the best!
