Downtown Louisville, CO - Neighborhood Restaurant

Huckleberry

Having lived in Boulder County for more than 34 years, I love taking a morning to meet a friend or colleague at a local restaurant or coffee shop at least a couple of times a week.  It keeps me connected with them beyond the typical emails, facebook and phone calls.  It's a chance to set across a table from them and have a "real" conversation; eye-to-eye.

This morning, I chose The Huckleberry in Downtown Louisville, CO.  The Huckleberry is a Neighborhood Restaurantt located on main street  (doesn't get anymore downtown that that).

From the outside, it looks like a sleepy, quiet, little restaurant..........Surprise!!!!! the inside was bustling with a restaurant full of people enjoying breakfast,  specialty teas, pastries or like us....just a great cup of coffee.

The Huckleberry has old wooden floors, great food and small-town charm and warmth (just my kind of place).  In the summer, they also offer outdoor seating.

Although Louisville has rapidly grown over the years, the city has done a nice job of maintaining a small-town core and welcoming feel that draws a lot of visitors both from Louisville as well as out of town guests.  As spring and summer draws closer, I am once again looking forward to the opportunity of sharing an evening meal in one of many of the downtown Louisville restaurants; always a great choice for a relaxing evening with family and friends.

Vickie, thanks for sharing. I love places like that. It is hard to keep the charm and character, but continue to attract growth. Sounds like Louisville does it well. How far is it from Boulder?

It's always good to get out of the office and sit and chat with a friend. The restaurant you describe here sounds like a homey atmosphere where yu can relax and feel comfortable.

The Huckleberry sounds comfy. Love places like that. Our little beach town of Cayucos has a similar place - Kelly's where the locals meet for coffee and gossip...

Mary, Louisville, is only about 10-15 minutes from Boulder.  It's such a great community.

JoAnn, it does have a homey atmosphere, creaky wood floors and lots of light.  Like stepping back into grandma's house.  Love it.

What a cute little building, I love the color and the name, too!  The corner entrance is very cool, a lot of older buildings have that feature. Vickie, these small downtown areas are so charming, I see why the Huckleberry would be a favorite place.
