Business Card that starts a conversation and leads to get clients.

Although I am a photographer, I have been doing website designs in the past and had a passion in graphic design.  I have designed logos, flyers, business cards, etc...

So when it was time to create my business card, I've decided to something a little out of the box or maybe edgy but after all I am the client so there will be no rejections for my idea  :)

I'm attaching both the Front and the Back of the business card.Back of the Business Card

Well, the first comment was from my wife that it was weird, and she said "I don't know".

Second reaction which was few hours later was that she "kind-of-likes it"

Third reaction was about a day after when she said that "She really likes the idea"

It took her a day to like it, but more importantly, it made her think for about 24 hours or more.

This is the back of the card, therfore the text is reversed, except my contact information.

When I hand my card, I generally hand it with the back side facing the person.  People generally don't say anything until they look at the other side and realize that it is not a design or a printing error  :)

Front of the Business CardThen the conversation strikes.  Almost everyone says that it is cool and they really like it.

Wellllll, I don't care if they dont like it.  There are two things that I was trying to accomplish with this card design.  (1) Increase the time they look at the card (2) I wanted to use this idea for a long time but many people are not willing to take a risk of being unusual

People will think one of two things.  They will either like it or they will think that it is a STUPID idea.  If they like it, great... But if they don't like it, they will talk about it with others.  I am generally hoping for "Look at this idiot's card.  His info is printed reverse".  No matter what, they will show and tell, and I am getting more exposure out of my business card than many others I have done that are classic.

The idea behind this whole thing is to increase the lifetime of each card I hand out, and get more people to see it.

Few weeks ago, I was at a charity event with Keller Williams in Salt Lake City.  I handed few of my cards to some of the agents I met.  One of them liked my card so much that she went out to grab few more people (2 agents and her sister) and showed my card first and then pointed at me "It's his card, isn't it cool?"

Four people (Three potential clients) has seen my card within the first 30 seconds.  Now, i can easuly say that IT HAS PAID OFF, and IT WAS A GREAT IDEA  :)

Besides, the card says that I have a sense of humor, I can think outside the box, and I have an eye for creativity, whether it is the pictures I take for your home or a graphic design I do for your postcards, business cards, or etc...

Ok everyone, let me know if you come across anything outside the box that you liked... Maybe we can share some of the ideas and help each other.

I like it - Probably not a card you would ever throw out. It would be a card you would show
your friends .

I like the card as well.  I also found myself looking at it to see exactly what you did.  The intent behind the card was met so great job.

Thank you Mark...

I was going for the WOW factor (whether they say that I'm an IDIOT or GENIUS), that will keep it in their hand longer with their eyes focused on it  :)

I think it is a great idea. My wife and I have been working on alternative concepts for our own cards and this is definitely not conventional. Thanks for the posting and another great concept for business cards.

You are very right, people tend to shy away from the unusual.  Seems like a good idea to get peoples attentions.

Brian,  at first I used to get frustrated with people who got shy away from my designs.  But, I think it is great, as what i do get more attention (good or bad), but it gets attention  :)

Mehmet....EXCELLENT thinking outside the box!! Everything I do is ALWAYS outside the box..otherwise you're just "another" whatever.  I'm going to have to read your other blogs.

I print my own business cards on my HP because I change the backs all the time.  Here's the main one I use below (back of card)....get's a lot of comments since so many people are in or use to be in taekwondo/karate.

That's a graet idea for the back of your card... I'm sure it sparks up quite a few conversations...

Hi Mehmet,

Do you make these yourself and are you open to sharing the concept? I am interested in finding out how I might be able to get a few to see what kind of reaction is produced. People may be more open to it because of your creative aspect of business but it is a great concept!

Like the business card -  It took me some time to process (otherwise it had my attention more that a standard business card would) ... which is great marketing.  - I wish you were in FL, I would have you do our photography.   Thanks for sharing.
