Sacramento is well known for over 20 museums and attractions, as evidenced by clicking here. However, after living here all my life, I also have learned to expand my horizons and be either at the beaches of the Pacific Ocean, the Wine Country of Napa-Sonoma, California Gold Country, or the beautiful Sierra Nevada. All are within an 90 minute drive of my Greater Sacramento home.
The winter snows this season have created extraordinary conditions for those who love to ski. Among the ski resorts near or at Lake Tahoe, you will find Northstar, a first rate skiing village with fantastic slopes, accommodations, dining, and shopping. And there are the views - unbelievable views!
Yesterday, I blogged about Mikuni's, Sushi restaurants, which will be holding "Get Lucky at Mc Cooney's" St. Patrick's Celebrations at all their Greater Sacramento locations. In addition their celebration will include their Mikuni's @ NorthStar-Lake Tahoe. So for those of you skiing in green this week, you won't need to miss out.
NorthStar, also has an ice rink cradled in the middle of the village. The rink is lined at the edge with "cabanas" equipped with fire pits, comfortable chairs, and coffee and drink bar nearby. Starbucks, is only a few feet from Mikuni's.
Note the guy with no tee-shirt on - Yes there are days when it is that warm!
That's me doing what I like to do best! Feet up in front of the fire pit, letting warm rays warm me. I'm not a skier - I'm an "after-ski" skier.
