Homes in Boulder, CO Once Again Threatened by Fire
A fire started in Left Hand Canyon in Boulder County iin the wee hours of Friday morning, March 11th, north of the Button Rock Reservoir. As I was driving into our Keller Williams office on Friday morning, I could already see the massive plumes of smoke rising in the otherwise blue sky.
Firefighters were challenged by the high winds throughout the day on Friday making the situation more difficult and more dangerous. Because there wasn't any storms or lightning to cause the fire, officials believe the fire was caused by humans and an investigation will ensue once the fire is under containment.
Later in the day on Friday, over 220 homes had to be evacuated as firefighters from more than 12 different departments battled the fire.
Tonight, families were allowed to go back to their homes but asked to remain watchful should conditions change again. The weather forcast is calling for some rain and potentially even a bit of snow which will help firefighters continue to gain progress. They are already reporting 60% containment
