I always wanted to be someone, not just exist as a person. Well, I became a Realtor and thought this is a way I can help people. OK yes I thought I could also earn a good living as well. Turns out I am not making such a good living in this market but I am trying to help people. The problem is I find myself helping people out of their homes more and more instead of helping people achieve homeownership!
Everytime I go on a listing presentation, which I know is going to be a Short Sale, I am touched by the stories of why they can no longer afford their home. It's not easy to hear about families hope and dreams being flushed down the toilet because they are being told in order to sell your home you will have to do a Short Sale because your home in now worth half of what you paid for it.
On the other hand it is very rewarding when I can help people alleviate some of that sadness and frustration. One of my clients wrote "Thank you so much for coming by my house today. I have been lost and spent the last year wondering what to do. When you came along I felt like I finally had an advocate on my side" Can't tell you how much that letter meant to me!
I met a family the other day which I'm not sure if I am going to be able to help. See earlier Blog asking fellow agents advice. But I assure you I will do whatever I can regardless of whether I get the listing or NOT!
It seems to me that Homeowner's had help getting into this situation and my plan is to see if I can help them at least move on with their lives. I rally for Financial Institutions and fellow Real Estate Agents to climb on board with me!!
