You go to dinner with your family and you sit in your spot throughout the meal. It's enjoyable, great conversation and some laughter. Your eyes keep venturing around the room to the brightly dressed women behind your daughter, the painting on the wall to the right of a Paris cafe and the swinging doors to the kitchen where waiters and bus boys keep running in back and forth.

Here's a thought!  Change places with someone across the table from you.  It will change your whole view, thought process and experience at the table.

Enjoy!

Hi CIndy - Half the fun at a restaurant is seeing the action around you... nothing worse than going into an empty restaurant..... Best, Gay

People watching. The food is part of the adventure but conservations, being part of a big dining room, low lights, the right music can all help a family meal where you talk, listen, munch a bunch. We are fortunate to be right on the Canadian border and going out to eat can mean leaving the country for a few hours. Skiing over at Crabbe Mountain along the way. The meal after a day of filling your lungs with fresh air, sunshine under a blue sky makes life very very good.

Cindy,

I agree that we should mix up our seating arrangements.  I've never thought about it before, but it's probably especially important when I'm paying more attention to the swinging door and the people in the next room than whomever I'm eating with.  The next time I'm starting to drift, I'm going to ask to change places.

Hmmm...never thought about changing seats to change the view.  It could kind of be like a chinese fire drill except at the dinner table instead of the car :)

Ha ha, a Chinese fire drill at the table, I'll have to try that Kim!  Thanks Kristin- you enjoy your Sunday as well!  Andy, your writing just amazes me.  You are so eloquant.  Tamara, very good point.

Connie, what a great idea!  I'll try that.  Gay, I agree!!!

Thank you all, for your comments!

This is actually a GREAT idea!  We are all creatures of habit (some more than others like me!) and a little change can bring in some creative conversation and thought you may not have had before!  I like this concept!
