Wanna promote your business and make a HUGE impact in your community? Host a charity event!

When I first started Katz Realty Group 5 years ago, I knew immediately that I wanted to be recognized in my community, and in a positive manner.  That is when I decided to host a charity event to benefit Habitat for Humanity, as it seemed the most fitting, considering my slogan is "Helping you find your way Home".  I truly wanted to help some of us that are less fortunate find a home and a new beginning.

The process was simple.  First I contacted a local bar that I knew would welcome the business and got them to donate 2 free drinks for the customers and appetizers.  To ensure that the bar would be on board, I got our local beer distribution company to donate 10 cases of beer and got a local wine distribution company to donate the wine.  These are the products that were offered for free.  Then I contacted various businesses and asked them to donate a service or a product.  We were able to get massages, manicures, a hotel stay at a local resort, and the main draw was an autographed Miami Heat basketball.

Next, I invited everybody that I knew personally and from business.  We charged $20 at the door, which included 2 free drinks, with people understanding that the full $20 was being donated to charity.  If they were interested in winning one of the items that were donated, they purchased raffle ticket.

Between the friends, associates and local businesses who attended to promote the product they donated, we had a tremendous turnout!

We managed to raise $3000 for Habitat for Humanity, and were written up in several local papers.  I made many new contacts that evening, many of which are still clients to this day.

So.....if you want to promote your business, while making an impact in your community, find a way to give back!
