Children stopping by Lorton Station with their parents can take a few minutes to enjoy sitting on the ponies at the carousel. The bright colors are sure to attract the younger set and what a great chance to let their imagination run free. The Lorton Farmers Market will be opening in the parking lot just behind the carousel on Sunday's beginning May 1st. I'm counting the days until the first local grown fresh produce arrives. In the meantime I'll just dream of the time that I fought off the fire breathing dragon from my trusty carousel pony.
Cindy..I see you have adjusted to the time change ! What a beautiful little carousel for the kids..I too am looking forward to fresh fruits and vegetables...

Hi Cindy..That merry-go-round looks tempting. I love riding on them although I do need a slightly larger one.
We're waiting in anticipation of the farmer's markets opening up here as well.

Some of my fondest childhood memories involve carousels. One in a mall that no longer exists and the one at Burke Lake Park.
Cindy, what a neat looking carousel. We have a few workng carousels here in the area, and you're never to old to take a ride, and maybe even reach for that brass ring. Thanks for sharing.
Kate-I think every once in awhile we need to wake up the kid inside of us.
Roger-I was out to early for the little ones to be playing but I'm sure they were there later in the day.
Wow I was just at this merry go round today with my tot visiting ALL pediatrics. It was a little chilly to ride but nonetheless he was amused!
