How important is Etiquette for your business (or personal) poise?

In today's business world, the way you make people feel and how they feel about you is far more important than the expertise you may have on scholarly degrees. Many value those who can fit in with anyone, and never pose themselves as better than anyone else. Do you value that statement? How important is etiquette knowledge to you? How valuable is it to know?

Brenda...
Agreed Fran, Thanks for making that statement! civility is making a come back and hopefully to stay. It's not about how rich you are in green, but how rich you are in what you can offer as a person!

i think the way people feel about me is key to my success so far. familiarity and personal attention is what a good customer is looking for. being there when most needed. and you are absolutely right, scholarly degrees do not mean anything when it comes to how others feel about you.
