Just for fun, while I was away we gathered up some of the strange laws that are still on the books for the various states.  Here are the ones for Idaho.

Boise: Residents are not permitted to fish from a giraffe’s back. (How many Giraffes are there in Idaho)

Pocatello: It is against the law to be seen in public without a smile on your face.

It is a criminal offense to ride a merry-go-round on a Sunday.

Cutting off a friend's head with an axe is against the law.  (It sure ends the friendship)

It's illegal for a man to give his sweetheart a box of candy weighing less than fifty pounds.  (Thats it honey you wouldn't want to go against the law)
A boy may only court a girl after obtaining written permission from her father. (Opps)

Children up to the age of 14 must have a certificate signed by their parents to testify that they regularly brush their teeth.

Coeur d'Alene: If police officers suspect a couple is having sex inside a vehicle they must honk their horn three times, and wait two minutes before they approach the scene.

Eagle: Bicycles must not be taken onto a tennis court.
Idaho Falls: It is illegal for anyone over the age of eighty-eight to ride a motorcycle.

Lawyers must not charge widows a fee for moving their piano from one room to another.

Snakes have been banned from biting humans on a Sunday - except when it's snowing. (Has anyone notified the snakes of this law)

Wallace: You are not allowed to sleep in a dog kennel. (unless you are a dog.) (Somebody took that dog house thing a little too literally)

Those are certainly some odd laws.  Thanks for sharing, I needed a good laugh.

Those are some really strange laws.  It's fun hearing about all these old, crazy laws.  I wonder if anyone makes an effort to get them off the books?
