Trying to sell a shore house in South NJ? Here's some thought of why your home may not have sold!
Many Realtors in the shore areas are still selling real estate the way it was 20 years ago before secure lockboxes came about. I have called to show cash buyers properties and needed to show 6-10 homes on a Saturday afternoon. The listing agents want you to go to their real estate office, pick up the key, show the house, return the key and do the same for each property. Efficient? Not in the least.
Many shore buyers are buying 2nd homes. They do not have or want to take the time to stop at 6 offices twice. Some of these agents refuse to meet the agent at the property with the key. I wonder how many of their sellers know this is occurring. I'll bet the agent is telling the seller they need to reduce the price.
