Owning a Home is Still the Way to Go

A recent survey of 3,793 adults was done by the National Association of Realtors indicating that 95 percent of homeowners and 72 percent of current renters agreed that over a period of a few years, that owning a home was a better decision tha renting. An overwhelming majority of homeowners we happy that they owned their home and indicated that they would do it again.

More than half the now current renters- 63 percent, said that they have intentions of the purchase a home in the future. Young adults (18 to 29 years of age) had the the strongest desire for the dream of home ownership; but only eight (8) percent of young adults were not so inclined to desire homeownership.

NAR also reported pending home sales also were in an uptrend in December, marking the fifth gain in the previous six months. Pending home sales is a forward-looking indicator that indicates contracts and not closings, which usually take a month or two more.

With rent inflation right around the corner it's going to be cheaper to own a home for many people nice post.
