Gloria,
That's so cute! I hope the directions bring forth a very happy resident! Wouldn't it be great to post this one again in a few weeks with a little bird poking it's head out of the hole. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Patricia
Alrighty, This has been such a long day and I have to say that this photo made me laugh. In a way it sums up my day.
Do you think they are able to read directions Gloria? Or perhaps they need a ladder due to their short legs? Hmmmm!
Doug & Gloria - Thank you for sharing very unique and beautiful blog about direction to the bird house.
Gloria,
That is own hilarious picture...Thanks for the giggle as we end this day. All the best, A
Gloria - what if the birds can't read - then what? They'll probably figure it out... lol! Very cute bird house!
Funny, Gloria. Do you think they will follow directions? Or just know that you did that for us ActiveRain folks:)
:)
Hi Doug and Gloria,
I didn't know birds could read. We must have very smart birds here in PA! Very cute - I like the drawing on the top too.
Lisa
Patricia, This is a box at a place where I used to monitor blue birds. I do enjoy seeing birds pop there heads in and out. The season is slow to begin here, hopefully in a month or so heads will be popping out of that hole.
Steve, Glad this post gave you a chuckle. It gave me one when I was looking over some of my photos. Well I am guessing you did an open yesterday.
Wanda, I think the children who decorated this box thought the birds could read! Climbing up is a real challenge.
Well that's all well and good. But can birds even read? Funny stuff Gloria!
Hi Gloria, cute photo but maybe the message is really for the cat since it's a little offset it would give the bird ample opportunity to peck the cat on the head! Aprreciate the laugher.
It makes good sense to me. I wonder what interesting things are written inside for the educated bird to enjoy?
John, You are welcome!
Alexandra, Glad it made you chuckle! Did the same for me when the words popped into my head!
Chris, it gets a little tight when 2 want to use the same entrance/exit....!
Kristine, They seem to learn this when they become adults! The little ones are only concerned with getting outdoors!
Toni, The little ones will follow the directions only once - Exit. Mom and dad follow it a lot better!
Some more background on this house....there were maybe 20 boxes made for a school project and the children were given wood burning tools to decorate the boxes. This is one example!! When I was a monitor and these were first put in use, replacing weathered ones, I really enjoyed the art work on all of them!
Yes Lisa! The birds here in PA are very smart and the arrows worked very well on this box!! The bluebirds followed them exactly!
Craig, You know it seems like they can! I think those kids know something we adults don't know or forget....
Teral, Actually some birds, like tree swallows will dive bomb your head if you are near the entrance to their nest. I've experienced it quite a few times. So those cats better watch out!!
Ellie, Funny you should ask....
Gloria
