I had a table in my personal inventory and needed chairs...... These were in my storage room and I had forgotten about them....$8 in spray paint, $5 in clearance fabric and I have new chairs....

Janice, I actually inherited the chairs from my husband when we married 2 years ago. They have been outside under a porch... As far as the amount of paint. I used three cans for the 2 1/2 cans for the 2 chairs.

Great Idea! I have only brush painted furniture and keep a small jar of touch-up paint in my tool kit - just in case I get a major scratch. I love the spray paint idea. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your comments. I have actually used this flat spay paint on some other chairs. They have a very "Pottery Barn" feel.
Also, I picked up a couple of inexpensive plastic outdoor chairs. They were white and I spray painted them a hammered bronze. They look like metal,, great for a front porch.

The chairs look great. I did the same thing with an old wood bar stool - spray painted it black and now I use it for a plant stand.

I too like a touch of black in every room. The chairs turned out cute - I have 3 waiting to be painted when we get a warmer and drier week. They are an awfully blue now, but sturdy as can be and quite stylish.

Hi Stacy, I love redoing chairs. It is so simple and inexpensive but makes such a huge difference to the look. I've done about 8 chairs in the past two months for 2 different tables. I love the transformation.

Stacy: Those chairs look FABU!! I like the matte black. I have some chairs very similar which I hand painted with a brush and they need to be redone. I will spray paint them since yours look so good. I had thought of it before but wasn't sure how they would turn out. I can't wait to go and get the paint now!
