Errors and omissions insurance offers valuable protection for claims that result from the professional services that field inspectors provide, while general liability insurance is designed to protect you during claims for bodily injury or property damage. Business owners policies, which can include general liability insurance, business equipment coverage, and more can often be included on the same policy for a small additional premium. Field Inspector Services may include, in part:

  • Performing Visual Inspections of Properties
  • Taking Photographs of Properties
  • Providing Inspection Reports

What if you have employees?

Businesses that have employees are generally required to purchase workers compensation insurance as well (rules vary by location). Employment Practice Liability Insurance (EPLI) is recommended to protect against claims from employees, volunteers, or even those who are merely interviewed by you (amongst others). EPLI policies provide a missing piece of the insurance puzzle that is often overlooked.

* Not all products marketed in all states. Stratum Insurance Agency, LLC is an independent insurance agency and/or broker (varies by state). No insurance is offered or afforded through this posting. In CA Lic #0e52066.

David,

Great site. Lots of information that is really lacking out there and much needed for the property preservation industry. My question to you is..I have heard time and time again from contractors who have been in this business for many years that these asset companies have come back on them up to five years later for grass cuts, a small stain in a closet ceiling (they say was missed) that led to a roof leak years later, or plumbing that was told could not be guaranteed and needed to be replaced by licensed plummer and flooded the house and all these come back on the property preservationists insurance. Is there not any way to protect one's self with these kind of claims with some kind of time frame written in the policy?

Thank you for your time,
Melanie
