School House Rock

By
Real Estate Agent with Crye-Leike (Sango)

How many of you are willing to show your age? Come on, raise your hand if you remember Saturday mornings watching a School House Rock infomercial between your favorite cartoons? I do!

Whilst I was taking my annual U.S. Constitution training today I was reminded about these catchy and educational videos of old. Now that was good government spending folks! You can't beat teaching children about their country, about adjectives, verbs, etc on a Saturday! What happened to those type of ideas? Really, with all the idiotic things that our country spends money on - certainly this would be one that should be relooked.

For those of you who are a tad bit younger or may have forgotten, please take a walk down memory lane. Parents - I encourage you to find a way to introduce these great clips to your children.

I Remember School House Rock. It does seem like a long time ago. I don't think back then everything had to be so politically correct. Different era.

Ms. Maria, I am sure that someone would file suit over showing elderly or out of shape people.  Really a shame though as the education these provide is lost.

I remember them! They were educational, in fact I remember the lyrics to some of them and I haven't even clicked on your video yet. Conjunction Junction, Lolly Lolly, and I'm just a Bill were some of my favorites. Thanks for posting - going to go check out the videos now.

No More Kings was another good one I remember from my childhood. Had to look that one up though!

I remember school house rock, watched it with my kids. It was a terrific bit of education for them. And this first video, along with Conjunction Junction of course, is my favorite.

Tim and Pam I certainly do remember them.  I can still hear the songs in my head without even clicking on the videos.  Things were much different back then.

Mike, thanks much.

Jim, very catchy tunes which, in my opinion greatly assisted in retention.

These days, kids can hardly even relate to Saturday morning cartoons, let alone our version of a catchy infomercial.
