Smyrna St. Patrick's Day Fest is this Thursday March 17, 2011 from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Smyrna Market Village located at 2840 Atlanta Rd. Smyrna, GA 30080.

* Mayor Max Bacon's Annual dying of the fountain green

* Carnival Style Rides

Admission is $5 at the gate but you can go online to get your free tickets in advance.   Now that spring is here, it's festival season in metro Atlanta.  I hope to see you there. I'll be the one in green!

Hey there Jen, Happy almost St. Patrick's day to you.  I have to admit that dying a fountain makes so much more sense than dying an entire river like Chicago...but I still love Chicago...and really like Atlanta.

Thanks Nick! I've been to Savannah where they dye the river green for St. Patrick's Day. I didn't know they did that in Chicago too.

George, I don't know about getting pinched. I've always worn green for St. Patrick's Day.  One set of my grandparents immigrated to the states from Ireland so St. Patrick's Day was always big in my house.
