Vietnamese Restaurant in the Desert

There is a brand new Authentic Vietnamese Restaurant in La QuintaPHO VU just opened 8 days ago, but the crowded

restaurant seemed to be humming along today at lunchtime.  We arrived a little after noon and there was a short wait for a table... a good sign!

PHO VU specializes on Pho/Noodles with fresh rice noodles in an aromatic broth with additions like eye round steak, brisket, meatballs, chicken, shrimp, veggies, tofu, and others.  They also have Bun/Vermicelli Bowls with grilled BBQ pork, grilled marinated chicken, shrimp, and even catfish.  They also have the traditional spring rolls, fried squid, and crispy egg rolls.

I tried the #46 with Grilled marinated shrimp, BBQ pork with lemongrass and egg rolls for $8.95 and my husband had the #16 fresh rice noodles with chicken in an aromatic broth, for $7.95.  The smaller version is $6.95 and would have been plenty!

Vietnamese Restaurants are hard to find in the desert-- and this one is doing everything right!  It should draw customers from all across the valley!

There are a few restaurants near my office. A favorite is Pho Bowl and is very authentic.

Kathy,

Some of the best restaurants in Paris are Vietnamese.  Because of their original French influence, they have created delightful dishes.  So nice that you have one in your corner of this gorgeous state. A

The last Vietnamese restaurant we visited the chef had his cook book for sale.  It was called "100 ways to wok the dog".

I can say that as I served one year in Vietnam.

I have not yet tried Vietnamese food although we have a huge selection of Vietnamese restaurants in the Vietnamese area just a few miles from me.
