Lately, I have had a bit of a blogging block, sounds better than saying MENTAL block.
TODAY I found the cure for lifting the fog. I attended Clearly Speaking Toastmasters which meets every Wednesday Noon at the SW United Methodist Church, here in Abilene. Go in the door by the Whataburger.
My good friend and real estate client and fellow Toastmaster gave a dynamite speech on inviting guests to Toastmasters.
Consider this your personal invitation to join a local Toastmasters Club. There are three clubs in Abilene and clubs in every state and most cities and many many foreign countries. For a plethora of information about Toastmasters check out
HERE IN ABILENE, CLEARLY SPEAKING TOASTMASTERS is making it really easy to try out Toastmasters with a public speaking seminar called Speechcraft during the month of of April. The price is RIGHT! only TEN DOLLARS to try before you JOIN.
It is amazing what will happen during this Four Week period. You will have an opportunity to learn tried and proven public speaking skills in a fun, friendly environment. Nothing builds confidence like succeeding at standing before an audience and completing a speaking project.
No one is pressured in Toastmasters. Speaking projects are scheduled AFTER you decide YOU are ready to continue and you go at YOUR own pace.
Just a little about me, smle! I would sometimes hang my head and pray not to be called on for TABLE topics the first few meetings after I joined Toastmasters. It took me a few years,..... but now, very few topics trip me up. I have learned a few speaking tips on how to complete impromptu speaking. I am even willing to compete in contest! Toastmasters has been good for me and good for lifting mental fog.
Toastmasters is a good place to improve yourself and have fun too! After the meeting today, two of my Toastmaster friends decided to join me at my favorite place in Abilene, the Olive Garden. That helped unblock my blogging block as well!
