Anaiah Rucker, age 9, student at Morgan County Elementary School is a local Hero. She came home today and it was beautiful, kids lined the street with signs and balloons and high schoolers wore pink shirts and wrote on them believe!!!
Anaiah Rucker and her sister Camry were waiting for the bus in Feb 2011. When little Camry started to run in front of a truck that was passing, Anaiah dodged out to save her. The blow would of probably killed Camry if it would of not been for her big sister Anaiah protecting her from the blow . After CPR Anaiah was brought back only to find out that her heroic act cost her a leg and kidney and a month in the hospital with a damaged spleen and fractured neck. She said she would of done all over again to save her little sister. Some call her a local hero. I think she was very courageous and to hear her say she wouldn't have a little sister if she did not do it brings chills down my spine.
Kim Logan at Keller Williams Realty Lake Oconee heard the story and it touched her heart. She then decided to try to make a difference in this child'slife and her families. "I called the school and found out about a fund that had been started at a local bank and decided to start to write articles and make announcements at public events to try to help this little girl and this family. We started selling raffle tickets for a chance to win 25 movie tickets valued at $250.00. Checks started pouring in with sweet letters of others touched by the story. People were buying tickets left and right. Our goal was to raise $500.00 then $1000,00 and now $2,000!!! This little girl has touched so many lives. This is a God thing now. He lead me to start the story and now he is completing it with people all around the U.S. Today I talked to a guy Shawn at CNN and another from NJ, that said he is a broker and with business being down he couldn't send a lot but wanted to send something, I also talked to Lady in NJ that is sending a present down for me to give to Anaiah. I get chills every time I talk to someone new.
