These days a lot of Realtors in the Fort Myers, Florida area are working in teams. Usually this means one Realtor has been so successful that they have more business than they can handle so they hire other less successful Realtors to take on some of their listing and showing duties.
There's one young lady in my area of South Fort Myers who is so talented at getting listings that she became very well known. She then bought a lot of bus stop ads and sent out lots of post cards and became even more well known and successful. Soon she started hiring other agents to help her with her work load.
Now her listing clients see her only once in the selling process: when she calls on them to take the listing. She then assigns the listing to one of her assistants. In this case the seller has no idea who they will be working with on a day-to-day basis and if the chemistry will be right and comfortable between them.
I'm sure if the seller does not like the assistant my very talented listing agent will replace them but it is still up in the air if the next assistant will be liked any better than the first.
Bottom line here is, when you are selling your house and hire a real estate agent to list it, don't you want to be the one to choose who that person will be? Isn't it important that the person you will be talking to each week and who will be in charge of marketing decisions be the actual human being you signed up with? I mean you picked him or her because you liked them. had confidence they could do the job and maybe most of all, felt you could communicate with them.
That's why I don't have a team myself and why I do not work on someone else's team . Taking a listing is A BIG RESPONSIBILITY, I believe my clients have the right to expect me to be there in person and that I personally should be held accountable for everything that happens. Last but certainly not least, I should be the person they reach when they need to talk to someone.
If you list with a team you have no idea who you will be working with, If you list with me, you will be working with me.
