I bought my first home in the Rose Park neighborhood of Long Beach years ago and have been hooked on the area ever since then. I love helping home buyers and sellers in the Rose Park area and have now sold many of the homes in the area multiple times.
Many home buyers my team and I have worked with over the years were like myself, stumbling upon the neighborhood after looking at homes in nearby, more expensive Belmont Heights. When I first began selling real estate in 1998, many Realtors weren't familiar with the Rose Park neighborhood, but now it's become a popular, more desirable area.
The Rose Park neighborhood of Long Beach lies between 4th Street & 10th Street, Cherry and Redondo. The neighborhood gets its name from a circular park at 8th and Orizaba. The neighborhood encompasses two separate historic districts - the Rose Park Historic District and the Rose Park South Historic District - and has an active neighborhood association.
Many of the homes in Rose Park were built in the 1920s, with some from the teens and some from the 1930s or later. The architecture primarily consists of Craftsman bungalows and Spanish Revival homes, but there are also a few Tudor, Victorian and other styles mixed in. Additionally, Rose Park offers some condos and multi-family properties.
The Rose Park neighborhood is convenient to parks, recreation and schools. It's also walking distance to shops and restaurants along 4th Street's Retro Row and the renovated Art Theater.
