Westchester Magazine is one of the best, if not the premier, magazine for Westchester county.

I was lucky enough to get a call from a reporter earlier this week.  She was trying to answer a question from a reader about flooring - he was having some issues with allergies and the synthetic carpet that was there, and he wanted to know what other solutions could work for him.

I was lucky that she stumbled across my blog and website (thank you Active Rain).

Well done Debbie. I read the article to read your comments, but didn't know I'd learn a few things. I installed laminate in one of my rental properties yesterday. But am really considering doing hardwood in all of them going forward...would rather get a lifetime of use rather than several years.

Your posts confirms the power of Activerain out there in the community.

Jay - Thx.  I appreciate it.  Actually, they haven't bombarded me w/ emails.  Apparently, I must have left comments on some other posts in Sept/Oct and I don't think I've gotten emails from them.

Frank & Karen - Thx so much.  Yes, it's a wonderful magazine!

Scott - Thx and super cool.  yes, hardwood will last a few lifetimes.  I've refinished floors from 1800's and even 1700's.

Debbie - What a great article and wow do you know your flooring. I've heard about cork and seen it on HGTV, but would be afraid to get something that seems like it could be a fad. Besides, my home was built in 1915, so it would never be appropriate anyway. I totally agree with you - real hardwood adds to the value of a property and lasts forever! Great job and you should be proud of yourself!
