Maybe it's just me, but often I take some time to reflect upon what I (we) do and the consequences or the end results of what I do.
I was reading Carmine Gallo's book, "the Innovation Secrets of Steve Jobs," and I was struck by Jobs desire for Apple to make positive changes in peoples lives, to enrich their lives so to speak. I suppose I was influenced by the comments because I feel that that's what I (we) do, in most cases.
Let me turn this, to a certain degree into business speak sighting two specific examples or comments, one new, and one from an old master.
In Gallo's book noted Economist, Author, and Speaker Tapan Monroe states the following;
One question will set you apart; How can I help my clients or customers do better?
That is what it's really about now, isn't it. Providing for others, helping them with their needs, wishes, dreams. If you are successful in helping them enrich their lives, your success is guaranteed.
How about the old master, the time tested adage which has lived on, and on, and on, and will continue to long after the author does not.
From Zig Ziglar;
You can get everything in life you want, if you help enough other people get what they want.
How have these words of wisdom survived so long. Personally, I have heard them soooo many times that as I type them out I can almost hear Zig speaking them.
So, how have they survived so long?
Because they're true.
Gallo portrayed Jobs as someone looking for simplicity in the goals that he established for Apple. He felt that the long term goal was to "enrich" the lives of others.
That's what I (we) do, although occasionally I seem to forget that.
Over the last 30 years I've helped many families and individual accomplish their dream of owning a home. Also as someone living in Southwest Florida I have also helped to provide vacation and retirement homes for the enjoyment (enrichment) of my clients. I haven't done this all alone, I've had a great deal of help, but there is little or no doubt that for a great many I have been successful in helping to enrich their lives, and
they have done the same for me.
So,
my Goal is to continue to help others enrich their lives
and
you're welcome to join me
