After reporting about the latest Bathroom Trends last week, Melissa Ditmann Tracey reports in the on-line REALTOR® Magazine this week the latest Kitchen Trends.
National Kitchen & Bath Association surveyed 100 designers at the end of 2010, and published the results to reveal:
*Cabinetry is going lighter with Maples instead of Cherry
*Grays, Beiges and Bones are in – whites and distressed
finishes are out
*Contemporary cabinet style is losing ground to Shaker style
*Undercounter wine refrigerators are less favored,
unchilled wine storage is gaining
*Countertops in granite and Quartz (like Silestone) are still up
in popularity, wood and marble are on the increase
*French door and side-by-side refrigerators are on the rise with
freezer-top declining.
*Gas cooktops are losing ground in favor of induction and electric
*LED energy efficient lighting is on the increase with compact
fluorescent losing support
*More trash and recycling pull-outs are being installed
