Looking forward to volunteer as a volleyball coach for the second season

First I had all this blog written last night and once I wanted to post it disappeared... So here I go again:)

I  will be coaching my daughter's volleyball team for the second season as a volunteer coach through the city of Rancho Cucamonga, where I live. I enjoy it so much the first time and even though it does require a lot of time and effort once you enjoy something it doesn't matter. We had great success last season, won 12 out of 13 games and were placed in the second place. Not bad for a first time coach...That championship final still haunts me, it really gets to you:)

My daughter was the one who encouraged me to be a coach since I was practicing with her a lot in the park when she first started playing. Practice makes perfect and the more we practiced the better she got. She was one of the best players of the team last season, so proud of her. Volleyball is a team sport and I see kids learn to see the value of teamwork and perseverance. I am looking forward to another great season and we will get that Championship this season.

Hi Ina, what a great way to give back of your time.  You are a great role model for these girls and a great way to spend quality time with your daughter.

Ina, I coached my son's soccer team for two years - I knew Nothing about the game other than kick the ball and run - I fell in love with all the kids on my team! It was one of the best times I've had as a parent!  Enjoy

Ina, coaching kids is a wonderful way to give back to the community. Without dedicated parents like yourself, a lot of these activities would not be possible.

I am from a family of volleyball players.... everyone plays when we are together... so much fun! My nieces all played highschool teams and were on championship teams in Las Vegas. One, of them, Krista, newly married, and mother of a 5 month old, coaches also!  "Hats off to YOU" for making the committment to coach and support this girls team.... you are making memories with your daughter and her friends that will last a lifetime! Have Fun.... and GOOD LUCK with a WINNING season!

Judith, its true, she is growing up and volleyball is something I can still do with her, thank you for your kind words.

Kelli, I had a blast the first season and I loved those girls, I know what you mean.

Malcolm, it really is a way of giving back and is so much fun.

Teri, that's how it was for my family during Summer too, my brother played professionally for a while. Thank you, and we are going for gold;)

I always coached or helped and sometimes sponsored local teams here in Rancho Cucamonga and watching my 3 boys develope physically, mentally, emotionally and prosper. Yes, coaching does take a great deal of one's time but it is all well worth it. Hang in there, have fun and enjoy!
