Stanislaus County Short Sales - Rattlesnakes, Squirrels and Rabbits, Oh my!
On the drive home from my new listing today I decided to take the long way back to the office. I was driving south down Interstate 5 (one of the two major freeways running through the Central Valley) when the rain stopped. I notice how green the Coast Range was. This time of year the grasses on the mountains are bright green. And with all the rain we have gotten lately they should be for a while.
So I pulled over at a rest area near Westley Ca. The rest area offered a great view of the Coast Range. I quickly found out that there was more to see than the mountains. The first thing that I noticed was this yellow triangular sign. Probably a smart person would have read the sign and not gone any further. Oh well, I never claimed to be a genius.
While I didn't see any Rattlesnakes I did see lots of other creatures. First I noticed several squirrels. Then a couple of Cottontail Rabbits ran by. I started wandering around taking pictures of mountains, squirrels, and rabbits when I noticed a large pile of rocks. That's when I noticed that there were millions thousands dozens of Cottontail Rabbits running around. All sizes from tiny baby rabbits to big Mom and Dad rabbits. Knowing how fast rabbits reproduce there were probably some great, great, great Grandma and Grandpa rabbits too. There were a lot of rabbits running around in those rocks.
If you feel like those Cottontail Rabbits that things are getting a little crowded in your rock pile home, maybe it's time to find something a little bigger.
