Who Answers the Calls on Your House?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Professional Associates
This Funny little video speaks big truths for many. If you are a home owner and you are selling your house, you really want to know who will handle the first inquiry on your house. There is a difference between companies and how they handle incoming leads. You get only 1 chance to make a first impression. Make sure you ask the question, "Who answers the calls on my House?" If it is not the listing agent or their team member, think seriously about that. Those are the professionals that know your house the best. Listing agents-When interviewing with Real Estate Companies you should also be asking that same question. When you spend time, energy, effort and money, you want the best shot at selling that house. If you can not get a showing because the person answering the call is either unskilled, untrained, or does not know the house then you should seriously consider what's in the best interest of your clients, and your future business building.

funny video.  Who Answers the calls will depend on the contact number put on the sign rider and in the MLS system.

Cute video.  My question is, would you rather have prospective buyers go to a voice mail if the listing agent is not available, or would it be better to talk to live person (hopefully better trained)?

Colleen,

Sometimes a call gets through.  I also find that the caller calls the name on the sign not the number on the rider.  Riders are hard to see when you are driving by.  Signs are naturally designed for your eyes to go to the center first(hence most real estate company contact info is in the center) and then if there is enough time your eyes will go up and then down.  The riders on the top of the signs have better luck than the ones on the bottom.  A well trained agent has no problems with the phones, however your most experienced agents tend not to take uptime or phone time they work by referral.
