Blessed in the midst of all my meetings; aren't you?

By
Real Estate Agent with Liz Moore & Associates

A fellow agent recently made the comment that "we had a lot of meetings this week, so it was hard to work". There were five on the calendar, longest one being 3 hours.

Whether you agree or not, the comment made me think about my week. In addition to those 6 meetings, I had an additional 2 business meetings and 4 buyer meetings between inspections and writing offers so I counted a minimum of 12 meetings in my week (I could have forgotten one here or there). And of course this is outside of my prospecting and administrative work on my business.

That being said, I felt busy. I felt busy and I felt productive. Because I work on my schedule every Friday before the particular week, I knew it was going to be a busy week last Friday so I said a little prayer to God for strength and I was quite excited :-).

But when the agent made the comment, I thought about my week and whether "I had a lot of meetings" and how I felt about that. And you know what I concluded - I am extremely blessed

You see, most of my meetings are in a heated or air conditioned building where I can sit on a cushioned chair. My home inspection was in a house where the heat wasn't on because the condenser had not been placed yet, so my toes were a little cold and I was a little uncomfortable - for 3 hours at most. But I was not 'taking a meeting' where I had to make life and death decisions.

Soldiers 'meetings' could cost them their life. I do not know if you have heard about 'Red Fridays', but I was proud to wear a stylish red blouse to show my support. I do not mind my meetings, because they could be very different ones. Counting my blessings this morning and proud to serve my buyers and sellers in the business of real estate!

I specialize in assisting sellers and buyers with their real estate needs in Virginia Peninsula Virginia, including Hampton, Newport News, York County and surrounding areas.(757) 739-2003

Well said! I remember years ago while serving my "20" I wondered if anyone ever cared about my sacrifices. Now I realize some did. Just as you and I care and are blessed!

@Ellie: thank you, I appreciate that. I like what you said about "perspective" because that is truly what makes the difference. I CHOOSE to be positive :-)!

@William: thank you sir! I will leave the fishing to you :-)!

Kaera, certainly some meetings are not very productive and are too long, but customer meetings are important, and also our soldiers and Marines and airmen and sailor meetings definitely are those sacrifice meetings.

Sweet post.  Meetings can be a drag.  If they are not productive, I opt out.

Hi Kaera. You are blessed to be able to work... unlike some of our soldiers. You obviously keep it in perspective.

Kaera, we are blessed in that we can work independently wherever and whenever we want. We decide to go to meetings (I really don't like formal REGULAR meetings, had too many non-productive ones in my life, but client meetings are great). And, yes, we are blessed if we can do those in a comfortable chair in a warm room.

I never heard of red fridays but I am for anythuing that supports the people who keep us free at the expense of their safety. We wouldn't be here were it not for their sacrifice.

Kaera - This certainly puts a different spin on the idea of meetings.  I like meetings when they're productive; it usually means things are getting done.

Good Morning Kaera. First of all congratulations on this featured post. Thanks for giving praise and recognition to our men and women, who are serving or have served our country. Red Fridays have become somewhat of a tradition around here in Military City, USA.

Yes, we are certainly blessed when our calendars are full with appointments and meetings.

Kaera - This is an awesome post.  Sometimes it is easy to look at the things we do on a daily basis and pick out all of the things we don't particularly like to do, however, we should all be counting our blessings. Great post.

Have a blessed and successful week!!

Karen - I'm very happy about your blessings. I felt like I was in your shoes. And for me, (only for me), I let the devil took a stronghold in my blessings for a couple of years. I wrote it on my blog 2 Sundays ago about Retrospect Blessings. I'm excited about your opportunities but do constantly look back and make necessary adjustments.
