School boundaries are very important to some that are looking to move to Highlands Ranch and other south Denver suburbs. The Douglas County School District has 4 high schools located in Highlands Ranch. Mountain Vista High School is the only one of the four that has students only from Highlands Ranch in their boundaries (others include students from Lone Tree, Castle Pines North, and Littleton).
Because Colorado is an open enrollment state, parents can enroll their children at any public school if there is room. However some schools are at or near capacity, and living within the school's geographic boundaries can sometimes be the only or best way to be certain of enrollment. This may be the case at Mountain Vista, this current open enrollment year Mountain Vista was listed near capacity - which mean you can submit for open enrollment but not every grade necessarily had room and submissions were considered on a case by case basis.
Mountain Vista is located in the Southridge area of Highlands Ranch and serves students throughout the "mid" section of the area.
Kids that have Mountain Vista as their high school generally feed from Mountain Ridge Middle School which is located adjacent to the high school. Here are all of the homes available for sale in the Mountain Vista High School boundaries - which is part of the Douglas County School District. This map is a feed from the Denver MLS that will show current listings at all times.
If you see anything you would like to see, let me know. We can go take a look. I would also be more than happy to get you on an email notification list of all new listings within these boundaries, or any other criteria that you may have. And if you are interested in searching for schools with a different school boundaries, you can do so by clicking the Search For Homes button below.
