Wisteria

In Asia, wisteria is an emblem of gentleness and obedience. In Victorian days, it meant, "I cling to thee."

The ornate and aromatic Wisteria looks like it is tumbling out of the sky from Heaven.

Wisteria bears an abundance of hues that includes lavendar, pale purple, mauve, light blue, pinkish blue and white.

Here you see how the lavish luster of lavendar hues topples over the garden wall as if it is bursting with joy because Spring is here! It can finally BREATHE and I inhale it's fragrant aroma!

WELCOME HOME WISTERIA!!!

My favorite is the first one that has the welcome sign.  With flowers like that how couldn't you feel welcome?

Dale,

You always have the kindest words to say. Thank you!

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't you live in Missouri once upon a time? If so, did Wisteria grow there? I couldn't imagine it growing in NH, but then again NH is such a unique state, it wouldn't surprise me.

Wishing you a gentle spring with lots of wonderful things to see and do in good old NH. Your Blog is always so refreshing and interesting!

Hi Pat,

Did you enjoy the Wisteria in your backyard when you lived in Ohio? Indiana is a lot colder, isn't it. I found Gatlinburg to be a quaint and charming place to visit. Did you enjoy living there? TN took my breath away and I have many memorable memories of the Smokey Mountains. I wasn't lucky enough to live there, but I can proudly say I was there and it's a place I will never, ever forgot.

So let me ask you this... if Indy doesn't have Wisteria, and it is so cold there (I'm from Chicago), and you love the plants that grow in warmer climates, why do you want to stay there? Texas is so big - you have plenty of choices and the planting is good too!

That's a lovely thing for you to say, " Your photos literally took my breath away!!!" I am so glad you enjoyed them and that it brought back many fond memories of places where you lived that had Wisteria. There's a place not far from where I live where they have wine tasting in the spring and you sit on a patio that's covered with Wisteria. Now that is really special!

It's great to talk to you, Pat via AR! :)

Hi Roy,

Spring is getting better and better day by day. I'm looking forward to the good news that spring is there to stay in good old Maryland!

Kellie,

I'm glad to hear that! I had a hard time choosing which ONE I was going to post and then I kind of got carried away. It sounds like people didn't mind and I'm glad that you found them to be enjoyable too!

i Pam,

I'm glad I could brighten your day with the Wisterias. In my opinion, they are everything flowers should be, after waking up from a long winter nap - spectacular in color, in abundance, and a fragrance that makes your heart palpitate and your knees end up dropping to the ground to take photos - like I did!

I'm glad you enjoyed them, I'll be looking forward to seeing what springs brings to VA when the time is right for you!

Good Evening Larry,

I'm so sorry to hear that you don't get to see or enjoy Wisteria in UT. They are such a spring show stopper, don't you think? I'm glad that you noticed the nice blue sky, I wanted it to show in the pictures; therefore, I'm very happy to know that you appreciated that.

Thank you for your compliments. You're a very kind soul and I wish you an extraordinary year with  good health, happiness, a welcoming spring that brings you sunshine, beautiful flowers, birds, and most of all, lots of business.

Howdy and afternoon to you Patricia

Patricia,
actually the Grand State of Missouri is were I was born and grew up as a kid. I still own a 400 acre Cattle Ranch back home, that two of my sons and their family live on, run and are taking care of for me.

As you know can happen up in this here area, our second day of Spring is giving us more snow.

Have a good one

Michael,

I am delighted to know that you enjoyed the Wisteria here in Flower Mound, TX. I understand you had a rough winter up there in Delaware, so it pleases me to know that if I gave you one moment of joy or hope that spring is coming, it makes me happy.

May all the colors of the rainbow be the first buds you see this spring.

Hi Dale,

It's so kind of you to stop back for a visit down here in Texas. I'm sure there are times you miss the great state of Missouri, all that vast and beautiful land, the cattle roaming freely, blue skies... I hope you get there as often as you can. I'm sure it must be fun to see how the next generation manages the Cattle Ranch. I'm sure it was hard work when you were a kid, but also rewarding too.

When I was a teenager, my mom and dad ran away from home every now and then and they ended up in some secluded part of Missouri, off limits of course to me and my sisters. Then when my oldest sister got married, the four of them ran away together to some where in Missouri, I never got to visit that wonderful place that was special to their hearts, but they always came back smiling and relaxed.

Where ever mom and dad and my brother-law went, they took their secrets with them to their graves, and my oldest sister isn't telling either!

It sounds like old man winter is trying to linger a little bit longer. But I know he's on his way out very soon. You take care of yourself and your family too and have a wonderful day and evening too.

Hi Kimberley from Whitby, ON! It's a pleasure to meet you and I hope you will soon discover your own unique beauty in nature, that does not have the capability of growing here in Texas. Wisteria is truly special to me and I'm glad that you enjoyed them. May you always walk in beauty!

Hi Rebecca,

That was very kind of you to swing on by to visit me for a bit. Isn't Rob Thomas awesome! Thanks for letting me know that you enjoyed the Wisteria photos. I just wish technology made it possible for the "scratch and sniff," version so that you could have enjoyed the aroma as well!

Wishing you all the best out there in beautiful West Virginia!
