I took a sabbatical from Newspapers and picked up my News from Internet and my iPAD apps for a few months.
But I have decided it just is not the same.
I totally enjoy taking time to browse through a week of newspapers on a Sunday morning.
It is the small stories and the educational pieces that catch my attention.
You just miss all the good stuff on the computer.
I read in the Washington Post about a man who was so far ahead of himself that he was seen as a kook in his Government job. But as time caught up to him his inventions were revealed to be true genius. I read about Internet Explorer updating and Firefox, too. I clipped the coupons and marked up the sale brochures. There's buy one get one FREE Strawberries at Safeway the next few days. I chucked at the cartoon in the front of the Washington Post Comics whose Author MUST be tagging along after my Nephew and doing a character sketch each week.
It is worth hauling the papers to the Dump. It is worth the stack each day.
I like to learn, clip, laugh, and savor the good old fashioned Newspaper. With my iPAD at my side, of course.
