D.C.-Arlington Top Real Estate Market to Watch in 2011
The Washington, D.C. metro area - including Arlington - was just ranked number one in the Top 10 Real Estate Markets to Watch in 2011 by Inman News.
The rankings were based on local data including home sales prices and volume, foreclosure rate, the job market, area demographics and other forecasts.
Our metro area was one of the few housing markets to see year-over-year gains in home prices and continues to have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.
These factors, along with a low number of Arlington homes for sale and continued low mortgage interest rates could point to a very active spring housing market along the Orange Line in Arlington.
Inman's top 10 markets to watch in 2011:
- Washington, D.C.-Arlington, Va.-Alexandria, Va.
- Buffalo-Niagara Falls, N.Y.
- Des Moines, Iowa
- Portland-South Portland-Biddeford, Maine
- Kennewick-Richland-Pasco, Wash.
- Fargo, N.D.-Minn.
- Burlington-South Burlington, Vt.
- Bloomington-Normal, Ill.
- Bismarck, N.D.
- Elmira, N.Y.
