On a nice sunday afternoon at a picnic, I decided to respond to my calls which is attached to me like my life depended on it. In a space of 3 hours, I had two rental leads. I followed up as usual and was so excited that in a matter of weeks, I would earn some long needed $. By the next day, I realised that I was going to become a psychologist to say the least. Here are my stories...
Customer 1 - Y'see, one of them had just been "swindled" by a realtor and a mortgage company from hell and had 10 days to find a place to rent because she was left at the real estate altar with no home, no mortgage and an expired lease. I must have spent hours everyday looking for a single family home, not in a gated community, for jusr $1200. In any other state, this could have easily been a mini mansion. In Boca and Coral Springs, FL, good luck. All the same, I worked hard for it because we are in "that type of market". No sooner had I found a place for the customer, did she inform me that the although the sale didn't go through, they had agreed to rent the house to her. I could not believe my ears.
Customer No 2 - As I counted my little losses, I focused on the second rental customer. I spent a saturday afternoon in the sun driving to about 5 homes. We walked into one home and they fell in love with it but were going to ook some more. We agreed to meet on Sunday. On sunday, all set to go I played my vm message just to hear the following message: "Hello, I want let you know that between last night and this morning, we found the perfect home. Sorry for wasting your time". I could not believe it.
When these types of situations present themselves, it is hard to keep going but you must find the strenght and I had to. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't mad...
