I am heading home tomorrow...leaving a nice week in St Martin behind. And with this vacation I have learned a new way to sell real estate...
It goes like this. I get a call from an old customer and they want me to give them a CMA...I say "Sure...I'm pretty busy right now...maybe I'll get back to you next week when I have more time...'kay?"
I was traveling with people this week that had a theft on the beach here. I tried to help them file a police report. The FIRST MISTAKE...never help anyone ELSE file a pr...not worth it.
"Wrong side of the island"...was the first response...
Okay...so I drive them to the "other side" (French side where the theft/ robbery occured), find the Police Station...and there I am told...by a cop who looked like I was disturbing the entire station...that I had to go basically to an even further part of the island called The French Quarter between the hours of 8:00AM and 12:00PM or then 2:00PM and 5:00PM but then I heard maybe 6:00PM...could happen?
The next day I went to another island with my "girl" and then helped again to file the report today. Forget about the back story because all I want to say is today at 4:30 we were told to drive all the way back tomorrow but come earlier...something happened to mess up the schedule today... huh?
Okay...so maybe if I came into report a murder? But I'm not too sure...maybe a couple of murders would have received attention...maybe?
Are you listing and selling real estate as they do here? Do you find it important only when it conveniences you? That's okay...if you have a system that delegates and actually works then ALL POWER TO YOU!
But as they showed me here in the islands...it doesn't work...it will be 3 days later and a report couldn't even be filed with the police...no real questions were asked by at least 5 cops in 3 different locations. Wow!
Just something to think about...crime and police work in the islands and how your business might suffer if you only work "certain hours".
