My younger Brother Greg has turned 42....whenever my
sister or I ask if he feels old his response is the same.....(he is the one to the far right)
"I will never feel as old as you and Janne do!!!" LOL he is probably right actually!
Greg decided to celebrate his birthday a bit early with a party at their house for the family on Friday night...technical difficulties prevent me from posting picturesof the party! What a fun time we had teasing and celebrating Greg!
Greg put a monkey wrench in our plans for a birthday present. Last year he had bid on some pretty cool pictures at an auction for the Family Justice Center. The pictures are of some banners the City of Nampa has through the downtown area.
I asked the City Planner, Cliff Long, how we could get copies....he said they were free down at City Hall...just come on in. I decided then and there that not only did I want the prints but that it would be a perfect gift for Greg...the one who is the hardest ever to buy for....
We got the prints and sent them off to California where a friend of mine has an awesome framer for a fraction of what we pay up here. One of my associates here at Keller Williams was driving to Family Reunion in Anaheim in February.
We got the finished prints to her and she drove them up to Idaho. Whew...so far so good.....
Well on March 12th was the annual Family Justice Center Gala...Greg and his law firm has supported this cause for the past couple of years...sponsoring tables for the event.
The City of Nampa once again donated a set of the prints....and all was good..until we were down to the wire on bidding and Greg placed another bid....yikes....when I saw it I asked him to scratch it off...of course he wouldn't....and they came and picked up the bid sheets....
Fast forward past the panicked look on my face.....My sister talked to the folk who had placed the bid before Greg...and we scratched his off....They were thrilled...it was the City Planner Cliff Long who for years, has bid on the prints and never won them....
When Greg opened his prints on Friday night he was quite pleased...and even asked if he had paid for them?? LOL He actually thought he was buying his own gift...We all got quite a laugh out of the story....and at least we knew we had found a gift he was actually excited about!
His wife had told him that he didn't get the prints at the auction and to not ask any questions! LOL
Greg may be younger in years than I am but he is certainly a man I look to as a mentor in many ways!
Greg has always been very determined and focused! He had a paper route at a very young age and some how always has taken on the "oldest child mentality" even though he is the youngest!
He graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Accounting....but was fascinated with the law course he had to take to get his degree.
He then decided to pursue going to Law School next! He started school at University Law School....he went up all alone and very quickly found out how lonely life could be.
He got engaged and later married his long time love Cindi....they now have 2 beautiful and wonderful children.
Greg finished quite high in ranking at Law School and went on to get his graduate degree in Florida! Cindi put her foot down to more school after that was complete.
Greg went to work for John Thornton and very quickly became a partner at Thornton Byron in Boise Idaho!
They specialize in Tax Law...What a great resource for me to look to when I have 1031 Exchange or other tax questions!
So Happy Birthday Greg....from your older "younger" sister.....I may be older but everyone thinks you are!!!
