America's Dumbest City... I Don't Think So.

Recently, the Daily Beast ranked America's smartest and dummest cities.  I'm not so prowd to anounce that Orlando did not fare real good.  Seems we rank down at the bottum of the list.  Heres' a link to the artikle.

But today, suddenly everything has changed.  For Orlando is home to Tom Kunzen, a five time Jeopardy champion, going for his 6th win tonight.  This guy is so smart, he actually skunked the competition the other day.  He played Final Jeopardy all by himself, because the other two contestants had no money!  I had never seen that happen before.  Who knows, maybe this guy will be the next Ken Jennings! I'm especially interested because this young man attended the same high school that my wife and I did, as well as our three kids, Bishop Moore Catholic H.S. here in Orlando - Go Hornets!

Thank you Tom Kunzen, for bringing a little ray of intellectual optimism into our otherwise dumb little world.  And thank you Alan May, for referring to Jeopardy in your post today so that I could think of something to write about.

Mitch,

I like your graphic.  I'm in Silicon Valley about 45 minutes south of #3 San Francisco, but I think we're grouped with them.  We've got so many PhDs in Silicon Valley it's commonplace and even Realtors have them.  No kidding. But, we have plenty of dumb Realtors, also.

Hi Lloyd.  Thanks for reading.  Yes, I think folks are generally a bit better educated in your neck of the woods.  I'm reading a book right now written by Guy Kawasaki - A Silicon Valley stalwart who constantly rags on all the "worthless MBA's".  Enjoy the rest of the day.

Ted:  Thanks for reading and commenting.  Remember the Cheers episode when Cliff was on Jeopardy?  That still makes me laugh.

Hi Tish.  I didn't get to see it tonight.  Did Tom win?

Poor Tom.  He got beat last night.  Oh well, he gave it a great shot and will surely be in the tournament of champions.

Remember Mitch - Genius has it's limits but stupidity is boundless.

We aren't dumb we are just alternatively educated.

Hello David.  Yes, they can be pretty amusing.  A few years back, Orlando was named the "angriest" city in America also.  Go figure.  In the land of Mickey Mouse, eveyone is pissed!
