An Amazing Place to Live!
Rockwall County, Texas is not known for wild game; however, it is spring and wildlife is awakening and being lured out by the warm days and evenings. All those little rascals who have been hiding during the cold weather are sticking their noses out. Each spring brings a noticeable upsurge in animal-related incidents.
Parents should teach their children to respect wildlife and to keep a safe distance. Adults and children all should avoid personal contact with wild animals. Do not ever feed them! Squirrels are cute, small. And seem harmless, but they will bite that little hand that feeds them. Children should be taught never to get near any wild animals, living or dead. Usually any animal that can be caught may be diseased or injured and likely to bite and spread disease.
Be especially watchful for any tell-tale signs such as droppings, tracks or unusual sounds.
The many animated films with cute, friendly furry critters who become great friends, dancing and playing all day long, do not have any similar characteristics to the ones that might sneak into our backyards or along the creeks in our local parks. The critters are wild animals and should all come with a big red BEWARE sign on their foreheads.
Parents teach your children to beware, call an adult, and not be tempted to get closer. While this may sound like a great adventure to the neighborhood boys, it is not safe. This includes birds too, as they carry diseases.
One of the best signs of spring are seeing the kids out playing, checking out everything in sight, just be forewarned that there are some wild animals out there, squirrels, raccoons, armadillos, coyotes, and in some areas wild pigs.
Rockwall County, Texas is ideally located an easy commute to Dallas, Texas, and is situated on the eastern shores of Lake Ray Hubbard.
