The news is full of comments by qualified and unqualified comments. Some say that the 9.0 shake they had in Japan will shift the Pacific Plates and be duplicated here on the San Andreas Fault. Others say that we can not be affected 5000 miles away; of course, that seems hard to believe since we had a 4am wake up call from the City of Newport Beach warning us of a Possible Tsunami in our own back yard.
There are claims that San Francisco's BIG one will be repeated but not until 200 years later so that brings it to 2100+ BC while others say the next BIG one will be in Alaska.And then there is the worry of California becoming an Island and Arizona having beach front property. It is more likely that San Francisco will come closer to Los Angeles but then again that will take a couple of million years to do that.
The biggest and best thing we can do is just be prepared. Keep flashlights and batteries, Canned foods (replacing with newer ones on a regular basis),Large bottle water, and learn what to do incase of an Earthquake. Other than that, lets live for today, enjoy and be treat your neighbor the way you would want to be treated and we will do just fine
