That is cool. We have a lot of deer at our house too. Don't see that in L.A.
Nancy, I always enjoy photos of deer. When some of the snow melts and they move back up into the mountains, we will see a lot of them, too.
I do think there were likely some other deer nearby as we have a doe and two probably year-old babies that kind of drift between our property and a couple of our neighbors. They are not shy at all and even if our dog barks at them, they just kind of saunter a little further away and watch.
Hi Nancy, Nice photo! We've been enjoying seeing the deer in our yard this year, too. Some days as many as 6 stop by. Sometimes we even have wild turkeys. Thanks for sharing.
Don't you just love when they visit! We had 6 at the bird feeders yesterday and Jack and Zack went crazy!
Thanks Gary - we haven't seen any wild turkeys, but usually do have a little group of quail later in the spring - I have to stop in my driveway while the mom herds the babies across...
I do love it Sharon - and my son drove up with my granddaughter while this deer was grazing along - she love it too!!
So beautiful...
Around here (30 miles east of L.A.), some of the less-traveled roads still have deer crossing signs, but I don't think anyone has actually seen any in 20+ years. Even so, it's nice to see the signs and think the deer might still be out there somewhere...
Hi Diane - yes, maybe they are just hiding out near you....I do love that we still have so much wildlfe - we live about 3 miles from town, but I've spotted deer even closer in.
We haven't seen our first deer back in the neighborhood yet, but about an hour ago we did see the first raccoon of the season come to say "Hi"
That's a beautiful sight, Nancy. I live across the street from a park and baseball field, so no wildlife, but I do occasionally see the big riding lawn mower. :)
Hi Todd - we don't ever seem to get any raccoons in the yard - maybe they are scared of the bark, bark, bark they would hear...
LOL John - the well known wild lawn mower huh??
