Perhaps the mania is subsiding? Excellent Washington Post article on the "meltdown" that the media loves to hype.

After all of the recent huffing, puffing, and hyperbole regarding the mortgage industry, it's nice to see a media outlet as respected as the Washington Post carrying an article such as this:

Borrowers Are Feeling Some Heat, but It's Not a 'Mortgage Meltdown': By Kenneth Harney

I can definitely echo the sentiments of the broker who had clients in excellent financial shape worry that they couldn't even qualify.

I am going to do my best to continue to communicate to all of my customers and business partners this exact same mantra.  So many programs are still available to so many people.  Let's go help them buy some houses!

Bottom line for most - readers and publicity to get readers reading their story.  There certainly are some problems in the mortgage industry, and hopefully the recent publicity will correct many of those.
