Wordless Wednesday - Spring is Here

I drove up in the office parking lot this morning, and this is what I saw:

Easter lilies

so I got a closer look:

Easter lilies closer view

Easter lilies are common but they still make my heart sing. Then here's the row of trees alongside the entrance to our office building:

Purple flowering tree

This picture does not do it justice, though. They are really beautiful. Rejoice - Spring is here!

Ladies, I had to click on your names to see where you're from, so that makes sense. I would love to put some in a vase if I see some wild ones.

It's supposed to be pretty here in the Seattle area today. Rain again tomorrow (of course!). But the early daffodils are blooming and the crocus too. I love spring!! Maybe I should play hooky and work in the yard today. hmmmmmmm

It rained here for about 10 minutes after I took these pictures. Great timing, huh?

LOL Tonya, I'd love to take off a week and go to the ocean, but not during spring break!

I had two other compliments here in the office on the close up of the lilies. Thanks Brian!

I need to come by your office and see these.  Great looking pictures-hope the snow last night does not hurt them.  Typical Louisville weather, 70's in the morning, snow the next day.  Have a good day.

Yeah March and April weather is usually crazy in Kentucky! You have a great day too.

I saw our first signs of spring today as well and it was actually dry enough that I could go out and take pictures. It was nice not to have number 25 of  27 days of rain.

It's been either gloomy or wet or cold here ever since I took those pictures. C'mon, spring! :)

Gloomy weather here lately too but we can always use more rain in SoCal so I guess I'll look on the bright side.  Beautiful photos Lynda!

Thank you Dave! Yeah, I would rather have too much rain than not enough.

We had a drought last year and between that and the willows growing around our pond, it drained half the water. This year, the willows have been cut out and the pond looks great!

Lynda,

Are those Magnolia trees?  Spring isn't as dramatic here in the desert as it is by you, but we're glad to see it come nevertheless.

No, Mike, I don't think they are, but I'm not sure what they are! My mother-in-law has several different kinds of magnolias, and they all have green leaves or green and brown leaves with flowers, mostly white or off white. I'll find out from someone what they are.

Lynda ~ the daffodils are coming up in my backyard now, too -- and their bright color just lifts your spirits!  Lovely photos, thanks for sharing them with us!

Lynda,

The daffodils are the first sure sign of spring, here they spring up near highways and freeways, and in gardens they multiply. Happy Sunday, A

Maureen and Alexandra, I'm sorry I missed your comments. I haven't been getting them in emails lately like I was.

Seeing them does lift my spirits, even in pictures!

And Alexandra, they used to spring up everywhere here but I don't see them in as many places as I used to, possibly because I don't live in the country anymore.
