My QR Code...SO WHAT?

By
Real Estate Agent with Coach Real Estate Associates

Ok, now that I have a QR Code, so what!  The code above is a link to my web page.  What's it really going to do for me and are we getting a little too carried away with technology???  I f anyone's interested, this web site http://qrcode.kaywa.com will generate a qr code for you for a web-site, phone number or text, for free.  Kinda cool, but really, you can't see how good looking I am in a qr-code! lol!

Have a great day in real estate!

I always wanted to know what that thing was.  When reading blogs I would try to click on it to see if it took me some where.  It does not look that good and what does it do?  Oh, brother now I have to research this.  Thank you for sharing.

For starters, it got me to your website. Which from appearance is typical for most Realtors. Let me revert to 4 hours of training I took last month. Before giving out your QR code, work on your site. If I am I Buyer or that occasional Seller, WIIFM (Whats In It For Me) on your home page? How many clicks do I have to go through to see homes. Personally, I may have overdone it, but, I have six optionsfor home searching. Leaving no doubt on what the home page is about...the client...not me. Talk to experts. Mine is by no means perfect. I fact I just checked it and found an oiverlap flaw that wasn't there yesterday I have to fix. But, I like it and several clients like it. With that done, you can put the QR code on your yard signs, fliers, etc. On fliers I like to give very brief information, then direct Buyers to the QR codes. I use two, one for my website, and one for my mobile website. Each with a distinct code to that site and that property. On the Yard sign I direct Buyers to information about that home on my website. After all, isn't that what they want...information on that house? I just direct them to my site where the aesthetics are better than the display in the MLS. I did learn that you can make QR codes too small. So be careful there. It can turn prospects off faster than turn them to you.

I just watched a video on QR codes, that is pretty neat.

You'll have to experiment with your phone. I did one at 2 1/4 inches. Worked good, but dominated the flyer; as you can see. Last flyer I did I put the QR's on the back with the full size codes from the servicer and captioned one for website view and the second one for mobile website view. Making them usable, yet not dominating the front of the flyer. The one on the back of my business card would require a magnifying glass. Looks impressive, but worthless.
